How to Get More Done
In this video, I walk you through my tips for being more productive and focus on your highest value tasks. At the beginning of the week (Sunday evening), I write down the top 3-5 things I want to accomplish. I put those on post-its in front of my desk so I remember to do these things first. At the end of every day, I write down the 3 most important tasks for tomorrow. I also put specific times to work on things in my calendar to commit specific times to work on them. For daily tasks, I put them into Productive an app I use on my iPhone. Next, turn off notifications on your computer and phone to not get distracted. Then, while working I use the Pomodoro technique, where I work in 25-minute bursts broken up by 5-minute breaks. It's impossible to work productively if you don't take frequent breaks. Lastly, I use RescueTime to track what I'm doing on my computer and on my iPhone in the battery settings you can see how you used your phone over the last 24 hours or 7 days. I check both of these periodically to make sure I'm not getting too distracted during the day.
